ACTIVITIES IN THE WORKS
OA Work party campout
May 1-3: The Order of the Arrow is hosting a work party weekend at Rum River Camp Grounds. They are allowing campers to come and stay at the camp for the weekend free of charge and are providing a lunch and dinner meal for Saturday. Some activities are planned, and part of the deal is that we have to clean up the camp site we will be staying at. This will be our first camp out and we have the opportunity to add in a small service project to boot.
RIPLEY RENDEVOUS !!
May 15-17: Located at camp Ripley just past little falls, right on the military base. The extreme program offers military demonstrations, team challenges, obstacle course, biathalon course, climbing and rappelling, zip line, and jambo-style camping. There will be fireworks, a stage show, souvenirs and trading post, a celebrity fun run, and MN military tours. We are looking forward to having an awesome time. We will be going up with Troop 524 and camping right next to each other. All in all, this promises to be a weekend packed with fun and adventure.
APOSTLE ISLANDS CAMPING TRIP
August 6-9: We are in the midst of planning a high level camping trip to the Apostle Islands at the end of the summer. We are currently trying to find around 8 two person sea kayaks to use on our trip. There are 23 islands in the area and several of them have sea caves to explore. We will be staying on Stockton Island. This looks to be a rather challenging event for all involved and we have lots of logistical things to plan out. We are getting very excited about the trip and it promises to be an exciting adventure trip for the crew.
