Increasing responsibility, leadership experiences, camping, outdoor activities, service projects, and a challenging, individualized advancement program mentored by adult volunteers are key elements of the Boy Scout Program. Weekly meetings are led and run by the Scouts, with adult guidance. Members are introduced to over 100 hobby and career choices through merit badges and goal setting/achievement through an awards program that culminates in the rank of Eagle Scout. Troop 524 is a Coon Rapids Boy Scout Troop that meets in the Epiphany School Cafeteria Monday at 7 PM.

About Us
Boy Scout Troop 524 was established in 1964 and is chartered by the Epiphany Church Knights of Columbus Council #10138. Previously Troop 524 was chartered by the Epiphany Ushers Club.  Weekly meetings are held at 7:00 PM on Monday's at Epiphany Catholic School in Coon Rapids, MN.

Although the troop is sponsored by a Catholic organization, it is open to youth of any denomination.  Scouting is a boy-led organization with adult leaders who assist.  This troop has numerous adult members giving it a high ratio of scouts to adults.  Our troop, along with its leaders, have received many local and national awards of recognition throughout the years.

Boy Scout Troop 524 is very proud of the 118 Scouts who have achieved Eagle Scout rank and the many other Scouts who are advancing quickly toward that rank.  We value all the Boy Scouts, ages 11 to 17 of all ranks who add diversity and creativity to the troop.  Troop 524 will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary in November 2014, and we're on track to have over 100 Eagle Scouts by this date.  This is due to hardworking and caring adult leaders who strive to empower scouts to make the most of their Scouting experience.

In 1997, Boy Scout Troop 524 received the National Gold Medallion Award, which is presented by the National Catholic Committee on Scouting.  It is presented to units that excel at providing the Scouts with quality programs including religious activities, religious emblem opportunities, outdoor activities and special events which encompass religious, vocational and educational aspects of Scouting.
