Court of Honor

Location
Our Friday night Court of Honor Ceremony is held at our campsite (Comanche) located within Chippewa sub-camp. The event begins at 7 PM, and ends around 8:30 PM with skits by scouts to follow lasting until 9 or 9:30 PM.

Ceremony Description
The ceremony is where scouts are presented with Merit Badges and Rank Advancements earned while attending camp and since the March Court of Honor. The ceremony also includes a summary of the week at camp and occasionally features pictures and videos from the week at camp. Finally, the scouts create "Comanche Awards" for one another with clever titles that relate to how a scout was at camp/things a scout did at camp that helped to make camp memorable. All parents and family members and guests are welcome to attend.

Dragon Fire
It is troop tradition that the Friday Campfire/Court of Honor Ceremony feature a "dragon fire". The dragon fire is a hollowed out log, usually stuffed with birch bark to make it ignite easily and smoke well. When built properly, the hole at the top of the log will shoot out smoke and flames like a dragon.
